I am currently typing from my office which sits on the second floor of the southeast corner of a 4 story building in downtown Oakland. For those of you who are up on currents events, I am sitting approximately 4 blocks from where the craziness surrounding the verdict in the Oscar Grant trial took place last evening. God has answered our prayers and kept CTO, the men we serve and our immediate neighborhood safe and sound. It was a night it which I was able to hang out (for and extended time) with the gentlemen in our shelter and in our program. We chatted about the craziness down the street, Lebron James and most importantly Jesus last night. May He use the futility and faults of us humans to display for us our incredible need for Him, His grace and His mercy.
